Services will be Wednesday for Shelly Dawn Pearce of Alpine, who died August 29 at the age of 59.
After viewing Tuesday, services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Alpine with burial at Holy Angels Cemetery.
Shelly was born October 2, 1963, in Guyman, Oklahoma, and later moved to Alpine where she met her husband Paul Dewayne Pearce, Jr.
Shelly is preceded in death by her mother. Surviving are her husband of 39 years, four children and three grandchildren.

Beto O’Rourke is continuing his run through Texas after his rally in Alpine on Sunday alongside other democrats on the ballot for November’s midterm elections.
O’Rourke, who ran unsuccessfully for senator and then President, now is challenging Republican Governor Gregg Abbott.
In a talk at the rally with KVLF and KALP, O’Rourke said it was important for his programs at the state level to still reach out to our remote tri-county district.
Beto: “Focusing on the big things, world class public schools, expanding Medicaid, trying to make sure that we can attract higher paying jobs and ensure that more people get access to care in underserved communities. Making sure that people leave a meeting like this with that message is critical.”
A large number of supporters attended the rally, including Congressional District candidate John Lira, Agriculture Commissioner candidate Susan Hayes and local candidates.
O’Rourke talked for more than an hour about various issues including gun reform, veterans’ rights, healthcare, border security and even bringing passenger rail back to Alpine and Presidio.
Beto: “Were I governor and working with Susan Hayes as Ag Commissioner, what if we put that money into the Presidio/Ojinaga crossing and bring these trains back into these communities…”
Lira echoed the growth that our community and the 23rd Congressional District has the potential for.
Lira: “This is a district that is shrinking at this point and it has most opportunities to grow. I say this district has enough to feed the country, to fly the country and to fuel the country. We just want to make sure that those industries and our communities continue to grow and unite.”
Early voting for the midterm elections is Monday October 24 through November 4, with Election Day on November 8.
The 36th Annual Trappings of Texas exhibit opens Thursday next week showcasing the cattlemen and women who create the best of Western art and custom cowboy gear
Executive Director Mary Bones said the three-day Trappings is a celebration of the cowboy and of the art created by truly knowing the land and the animals that call this countryside home,
Bone said the exhibit is built on the history of cattle and horses introduced from the Old World in the 16th Century and Texas is built on ranching.
The weekend starts with a preview party from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the museum.
Meet the artists and enjoy complimentary wine and beer, a cash bar and light appetizers from Old Gringo Coffee & Cocktails.
Tickets are $50 per person.
