A memorial service for Richard Glenn Allen of Marathon will be at 10 Wednesday morning at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He died Tuesday at home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel and the memorial service will be the next morning.
Richard was born August 19, 1949. He was an artist and an engineer, an inventor and a dreamer, known as a true renaissance man.
Surviving are his beloved Nelda Ortiz, his mother, two sisters and six children he and Nelda cared for.

In last month’s City Talk show on KVLF, Police Chief Darrell Losoya said he’s trying to take full advantage of the grant that made his brand-new bicycle patrol possible.
Losoya and Officers Karina Lagarreta and Lindy Montgomery recently completed training for the new unit.
Losoya: “Last year I applied for the grant, and it finally kicked in. Now I’m trying to wrap up the ends of it. I’ve purchased two bicycles so far with the grant and some equipment. I have some money left and am trying to reach for those e-bikes.”
Lieutenant Michael Guzman and Sergeant Abelardo Soto from the El Paso Community College provided the training on the Sul Ross campus.
The Sully Productions offering “Los Valientes: The Courageous Ones” will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Marshall Auditorium on the campus of Sul Ross State University.
There is no entrance fee, though donations will be accepted for Campus Activities, which benefits student enrichment.
“Los Valientes” is a chamber music trio for cello, piano and percussion and solo theatre.
It explores the artistic works and political persuasions of Diego Rivera and the commitment to human rights of Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero.
It also presents the pursuit of social justice by Mexican-American desperado Joaquin Murrieta, better known as “Zorro.”
The presentation is a prelude to National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated annually between September 15 and October 15.
Sul Ross is a Hispanic Serving Institution, a federal designation for schools with an enrollment of undergraduate students that is at least 25% Hispanic.

The Museum of the Big Bend will host a special opening weekend for the 35th annual Trappings of Texas Thursday through Saturday.
Trappings showcases those who create contemporary Western art and custom cowboy gear and will be open from September 15 until November 5.
Tickets are available for a preview party at the Museum from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday where people can register to become a buyer, meet the artists and enjoy food and drinks.
Friday will kick off with artist demonstrations at the Museum with an opportunity to meet the artists and learn about their craft from 11 to 3.
The opening reception and sale will follow from 6 to 9 at the Museum with dinner and complimentary wine and beer.
Saturday will kick off with Ranch Hand Breakfast at the Museum at 8 a.m. followed by Artist Demonstrations and Presentations from 11 to 3.
Trappings of Texas will end with a roundup party at Miter Peak ranch with a special sale and dinner.
