Our state Rep Eddie Morales has introduced the Texas Migrant Processing and Jobs Plan in the Texas House to help address a lot of the needs on the U.S. border with Mexico.
The bill would provide a two-thousand-dollar fee for migrant processing to be paid to the State of Texas.
Morales said this is about the amount migrants pay coyotes to smuggle them across the border illegally.
By imposing this fee, we can streamline the process and cut the cartels out of this billion-dollar industry, he said.
Migrants would be issued an easily identifiable purple Non-Voting Migrant I.D. Card that could be used as a form of I.D., for money deposits and a tracking chip. Migrants must prove they are gainfully employed by submitting an employment sponsorship letter and may not seek, nor are they eligible for state or federal benefits. No criminal activity above a Class C Misdemeanor would be allowed. The respective migrant would face immediate deportation without the possibility of re-entry into Texas.
Those caught crossing the border anywhere that is not a land port of entry would face immediate deportation and a minimum five-year ban on future re-entry.
Earmark 25 percent of revenue generated for the combatting of fentanyl and other illegal drugs that come across the border and kill Texans.
And Molinar urged the use of the billions of dollars in revenue generated by this program to invest in border security infrastructure and our ports of entry.
Sul Ross State University announced this week it celebrated National Voter Registration Day and Constitution Day last month.
It allowed students to check their registration status, register or update their registration, get mini copies of the Constitution and learn about the proposed amendments on the November Ballot.

The Third Annual Law Enforcement and First Responder Appreciation Barbecue Luncheon will be Saturday at the Stable Performance Cars in Alpine.
The West of the Pecos Republican Women have volunteered to help serve for this event again this year.

Nuestro representante estatal Eddie Morales ha presentado el Plan de Empleo y Procesamiento de Migrantes de Texas en la Cámara de Representantes de Texas para ayudar a abordar muchas de las necesidades en la frontera de Estados Unidos con México.
El proyecto de ley proporcionaría una tarifa de dos mil dólares para el procesamiento de inmigrantes que se pagaría al Estado de Texas.
Morales dijo que se trata de la cantidad que los inmigrantes pagan a los coyotes para pasarlos ilegalmente a través de la frontera. “Al imponer esta tarifa, podemos agilizar el proceso y eliminar a los cárteles de esta industria de miles de millones de dólares”, afirmó.
A los inmigrantes se les emitiría una identificación de migrante sin derecho a voto de color violeta, fácilmente identificable. Tarjeta que podría usarse como forma de identificación, para depósitos de dinero y chip de seguimiento.
Los inmigrantes deben demostrar que tienen un empleo remunerado mediante la presentación de una carta de patrocinio de empleo y no pueden buscar beneficios estatales o federales ni son elegibles para recibirlos.
No se permitiría ninguna actividad criminal superior a un delito menor de Clase C. El migrante respectivo enfrentaría una deportación inmediata sin posibilidad de reingresar a Texas.
Aquellos que sean sorprendidos cruzando la frontera en cualquier lugar que no sea un puerto de entrada terrestre enfrentarían una deportación inmediata y una prohibición mínima de cinco años para reingresar en el futuro.
Destinar el 25 por ciento de los ingresos generados a la lucha contra el fentanilo y otras drogas ilegales que cruzan la frontera y matan a los texanos.
Y Molinar instó a utilizar los miles de millones de dólares en ingresos generados por este programa para invertir en infraestructura de seguridad fronteriza y en nuestros puertos de entrada.
La Universidad Estatal de Sul Ross anunció esta semana que celebró el Día Nacional del Registro de Votantes y el Día de la Constitución el mes pasado.
Permitió a los estudiantes verificar el estado de su registro, registrarse o actualizar su registro, obtener minicopias de la Constitución y conocer las enmiendas propuestas en la boleta electoral de noviembre.
