A Celebration of Life for Katherine Ann Crockett Davis will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Alpine with Reverend Stephen White officiating.
She died at home October 21 surrounded by family.
Katherine was born in Havre, Montana, on August 26, 1934. Her musical duet with her husband Samuel Davis began at the University of Montana at Missoula.
Sam played trumpet in the Moon Moods Dance Band while Katherine’s performance in voice and concert piano won her the “Moonlight Girl” competition.
Survivors include her husband, two brothers and a sister.

The National Park’s Service is hosting its last fee-free day of the year and beginning a lifetime pass for U.S. Military Veterans and Gold Star Families during Veteran’s Day Friday.
Fee-free days apply only to National Park Service entrance fees and do not cover amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation or special tours.
The new free Military Pass is a way to thank current U.S. military members and their dependents, Gold Star Families and U.S. military.
The Interagency Military Pass covers entrance fees and standard amenity fees at lands managed by the National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service and more.
The Pass waives entrance fees and does not cover expanded amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, transportation, special recreation permits, reservation fees or special tours.

The U.S. Border Patrol Big Bend Center is hosting this year’s David R. Delany Memorial 5-K walk and run Saturday at the Kokernot baseball field.
A ceremony and registration will begin at 10 with the actual race starting at 11 followed by a barbeque and celebration. All participants will receive a shirt and medal.
Agent Delaney entered duty as a member of the 536th Academy session on December 12, 2002, and was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and Marine Corps.
Agent Delaney passed away in November of 2012 while patrolling on foot near Big Bend National Park.
Agent Marlene Chacon said this will be the second year the 5-K commemorates Delaney’s service, with proceeds going to his family.
Chacon: “We would like to continue it every year, we would like to remember our fallen. He was a great man. And the family as well. I remember last year they said, ‘Wow you’re remembering our father, my husband.’ So it’s a great memory for them, for us to acknowledge that he was a great man and that he was once here.”

The monthly free Bluegrass jam has been scheduled for 4:30 Saturday afternoon at the Old Gringo at 101 West Avenue E.
The jam usually is at the Kokernot Park but backers say the forecast is for cold weather so it is being moved inside.
The notice says to bring your instrument of choice and play along and buy a coffee or drink to sip on while listening to the music.
The October jam was in conjunction with the Inaugural Big Bend Bluegrass Festival and was considered a huge success.
Backers thanked Sam Cason and Marc Goff for assembling and taking down the tent and heading up the jams.
