Don’t look now but the national General Election in which we choose offices from President on
down and other issues is next week, Tuesday, November 7.

Nine proposed City Charter Amendments are on the ballot for the City of Alpine, which
normally has elections in March.
We have reviewed the first seven propositions in earlier news casts, leaving two to go. We will
have Prop 8 now and Prop 9 Wednesday.
Friday, we hope to be able to briefly describe all nine.

Proposition 8, on the ballot as Prop H, would authorize the City Council to appoint an attorney,
licensed to practice law in the State of Texas as City Attorney.
The city already has that authority and has appointed several in recent years. This proposition
simply clarifies the language.
It states the City Attorney and Deputy City Attorneys shall serve at the will of and be entitled to
compensation as established by the Council.
We hope to have times, dates and places the day before the election, on Monday, November 4.

It will be November 16 at the U.S.O. Marfa’s Visitor Center.
The show will open with Ojinaga historian Victor Sotelo Mata and his “Por Donde Vino Villa
Atacar Ojinaga? about Pancho Villa and his role for the Mexican side.
