The first item voters will see on their ballots – proposition 1 – would create an endowment for the Texas State Technical College.
Officials with the school have said they’d use the funds to improve infrastructure on campus and upgrade classroom equipment.
Proposition 2 – if approved by voters – would ban the state from taxing individuals, families or businesses on QUOTE “realized or unrealized capital gains.” That means potential profits from assets like investments or real estate.
The next item, we’ll look at, proposition 3, would require judges to deny bail for people accused of certain felonies, such as murder and indecency with a child. Proponents say the effort is needed to limit violent crimes, while others say the proposition would keep more people jailed without actually improving public safety.
