The Brewster County Commissioners Court will have its second regularly-scheduled meeting in
the New Year tomorrow.

In a 23-item agenda, the court will again discuss a bunkhouse for the South Brewster County
Emergency Services and a visitor center to be built in Study Butte.
The Court will hear from Justin Gilmore of Level Five Architecture and discuss plans and a
budget.
Also on the agenda is approval of a 22 thousand dollar bond for Tax Assessor-Collector Sylvia
Vega and a three-thousand-dollar bond for Commissioner Ruben Ortega.
The bond is higher for the tax assessor-collector because she handles all county funds and other
properties.
And there is a review and discussion on appropriate action to declare items in the District Clerk’s
office as salvage.
The court also will hear an update on Sul Ross State University by its President Dr. Carlos
Hernandez.
The court will meet as always at 9:30 tomorrow in the Commissioners Courtroom in the
Brewster County Courthouse Annex.

The Sul Ross Small Business Develop Center offers another course by Zoom Webinar from 10 to

It also will cover financing options from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
This workshop will answer questions such as what are business credit basics, the major types of
business loans and the differences between secured and unsecured loans.
Other topics will cover differences between long-term and short-term credit and how a credit
score impacts applying for new loans.
