Transcript:

Monday, February 5th and I’m PJ Benevich.

U.S. Senate candidate Roland Gutierrez of San Antonio is finishing a swing through West Texas
in his primary race for the Democrat nomination to the U.S. Senate.

The tour ends tonight in El Paso after an appearance last night at the Hampton Inn in Alpine and
(9:30) this morning at the Marfa Burrito in Marfa.
Gutierrez faces Congressman Colin Allred of Dallas for the nomination. He was our state senator
until he was redistricted out of Brewster County recently.
The winner then faces incumbent Republican Ted Cruz in November for the seat.
Gutierrez said Democracy is on the line this year and Texas needs a Senator who is going to
stand up and fight for them on the real issues.
He listed the issues as restoring women’s reproductive rights, getting more money to working
families and fixing our broken immigration system.
Gutierrez charged Cruz with an “agenda to break the system in favor of his wealthy donors.”

livestreamed Congressional District 23 Republican Debate this week.

County Chair Monica McBride invited guests to the Stable Cars on West Holland Avenue
