Our Congressman Tony Gonzales has led a letter with 22 of his House Republican colleagues urging the Biden Administration to force sanctuary cities to obey immigration laws.
It urges them to cooperate with ICE and discourage sanctuary cities from providing refuge for illegal immigrants who have committed criminal acts.
He said the signers are especially concerned by the willful failure of sanctuary cities to hold criminal noncitizens in custody after their arrest, often releasing them without bond.
This refusal has led to the release of violent offenders into American communities, posing a direct threat to public safety.
Gonzales said the country was devastated by the horrific death of Laken Riley, a nursing student from Augusta University in Georgia.
She was murdered by an illegal alien from Venezuela who had twice been arrested and released since breaking into the country a few weeks earlier.
The Vernal Equinox will come in like a lamb at 10:06 Tuesday night, marking the day when daylight and darkness essentially are of equal length, thus the name equinox.
This celestial event marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the start of fall south of the equator.
The sun will be roughly over the equator, after having moved south for the winter. But the sun doesn’t move and contrary to many explanations, the earth does not “wobble.”
The earth’s axis is slightly tilted from its orbit, putting the sun north and south of the equator as we orbit the sun.
The axis is perpendicular to the sun’s rays during equinoxes, resulting in approximately equal hours of daylight and darkness across the globe.
Alpine High School has posted on Facebook that its photography department offers passport photographs.
Photography students can take, print and cut your passport photos to State Department specifications.
Students and staff can get their passport photos for free and it charges only 15 dollars for community members.

The City of Alpine has posted its April Warrant Roundup for unpaid city citations and we counted about 150 names included in the notice.
It asks those on the list to voluntarily resolve the issue before April 5 to avoid being arrested.

The next Travel Talk at the Alpine Public Library will be “Seven Years in Korea” by Teresa Ritter.
She moved to South Korea in her early 30s to work as a teacher of English as a second language.
She will share her experiences of learning to live in another culture, including daily life, special events, foods and urban design. The talk starts at 7 on Friday, March 29. For more information, call the library at 837-2621.
And the Library will host another Estate Planning information session presented by lawyer Robert Steele this month. Come to the Library at 10:30 Saturday, March 23, to learn about the documents everyone needs.
