The Pastors Alliance has planned the TransPecos Prayer Rally Saturday for all to pray for the children and families of Uvalde.
A lone gunman entered the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde on May 24 and, after a standoff of more than an hour, 19 children and two adults were left dead.
The school administration announced this week that students and staff will not return to the campus and plans are to serve students on other campuses.
Elsewhere, officials from the Congress on down are seeking answers and a way to stop, or at least mitigate, the recent spate of school shootings.
The rally will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Brewster County Courthouse Lawn and Gazebo.
It will include singing, Bible Scripture reading and prayer and all are welcome.

Area law enforcement continues to haul in illegal migrants in the current surge including two arrests that yielded more than a dozen suspects.
At about 3:30 Wednesday morning, a sedan traveling north on Highway 67 failed to yield at the Border Patrol checkpoint south of Marfa for immigration checks.
Border Patrol agents spiked the vehicle at the checkpoint but it continued into Marfa with flat tires.
The car was found abandoned at the Cordero trailer park where Presidio County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a search for the driver and occupants.
Taking part in the search were officers of the U.S. Border Patrol, Marfa Police and D.P.S. Troopers.
They finally found the occupants of the vehicle, all undocumented migrants, in the Alamito Creek near Pizza Foundation.
Later, the Sheriff’s Office received a tip that the driver of the vehicle could be found near the the Paisano Hotel and deputies arrested the driver.
Earlier Tuesday night, a Brewster County Deputy encountered a vehicle on Highway 118 south of Elephant Mountain.
The vehicle was occupied by 12 illegal migrants from Mexico. All suspects were released to the Border Patrol for processing.
A screening of Texas’ first wildlife movie “Deep in the Heart” narrated by Matthew McConaughey will be at Rangra theatres in Alpine starting Friday.
The film showcases the diverse landscapes and remarkable wildlife behavior all throughout the state, including the Big Bend. Perhaps it’s better if McConaughey takes it away.
McConaughey: “This film will celebrate the natural wonders of Texas, it is a story about tragedies in our pasts, of recoveries against all odds and is a call to action to conserve the wildlife and wild places in our home.”
The film is directed and written by Ben Masters, who specializes in wildlife and award-winning adventure stories and has worked with the Borderlands Research Institute.
Deep in the Heart aims to conserve our remaining wild places, to show the connectivity of water and wildlife and to recognize Texas’ conservation importance on a continental scale.
The Brick Vault Barbecue and Brewery in Marathon is hosting the first annual Pinewood Derby Race this summer.
A workshop will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. June 16 at the Brick Vault with the actual race day a month later, from noon to 4 p.m. July 16.
There is a $10 entry fee along with $15 car kits available for pick up at the Brick Vault while supplies are available.
More information with official rules and regulations will be published at a later date.
