Belinda L. Espinoza, a dedicated mother and grandmother whose love knew no bounds, passed away July 4. She was 58.
Throughout her life, Belinda embraced her career with an unwavering commitment, often juggling multiple jobs to provide for her family. She lent her talents to Sul Ross State University, as well as several years at the local grocery store, where she held various positions from bakery staff to cashier and even store manager. Her final role was as a trusted mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, a testament to her tenacity and strong work ethic.
Belinda was known for her sarcastic humor coupled with a nurturing heart. Those who spent time in her presence could always expect a hearty laugh, along with moments filled with care and love. Her family was her pride and joy; she radiated affection for her children and grandchildren.
Belinda’s legacy continues through her beloved family members – she is survived by her three children and nine grandchildren.
Services for Belinda are to be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine tomorrow (WEDNESDAY) with visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m.
A funeral Mass begins at 10:00 a.m., and the burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery.

Helen Louise Schneider will be remembered by friends and family this weekend with a memorial service at Holy Angel Cemetery.
Helen was born in El Paso in 1951, and later she followed her heart in faith to the Bible College in Kansas where she would meet her future husband, Wolfgang Schneider. The two married on July 18, 1980 after graduating and moved to Germany where the two would begin their ministry.
At the ministry, Helen would work with the church, coordinate events, attend women’s fellowship and organize activities for children. She was president of the American Women’s Group – which later became known as the International Women’s Group.
Helen was an avid reader, loved movies, and was a big sports fan. She was a gracious host who loved family and friends coming together.
She is survived by her husband, Wolfgang, her two children, three grandchildren and four siblings.
Helen’s memorial service will be Saturday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at Holy Angel Cemetery.

Earlier today (Tuesday), county officials reviewed the county tourism council’s $2 million dollar budget for the next year.
During the budget discussion, county commissioners were told that part of the budget anticipates a loss in HOT tax money with the upcoming closure of the Chisos Mountain Lodge at Big Bend National Park.
Linda Walker is the vice president of the tourism council. She said with the closure, they expect a roughly $160,000 shortfall in hotel occupancy tax collections in the year.
WALKER1: “And as long as that hotel up in the basin is closed, we’re not going to be collecting hot tax from that. Yes, they’re going to push some of that toward Terlingua, but there’s just a finite number of rooms that we’re gonna have.” (0:14)
The park plans to tear down and begin rebuilding the Chisos Mountain Lodge at Big Bend National Park some time in the fall.
The closure’s estimated to last at least two years.

This Friday, health officials and local leaders will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new community health clinic in Fort Davis.
The medical care facility is a 40-foot retrofitted shipping container that’s been equipped with telehealth and tele-counseling capabilities.
Licensed health professionals from the health centers at Texas A&M and Texas Tech will provide healthcare services at the clinic.
The clinic’s grand opening will be Friday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. at 100 Court Avenue

This fall, the San Angelo Art Club will host a juried art show and sale.
The month-long exhibit and art sale – located at the Kendall Art Gallery in downtown San Angelo – will also feature cash prizes in five categories. The show has its opening reception on September 13.
More information on the exhibit will be sent out at the end of the month (JULY).

Belinda L. Espinoza, una madre y abuela dedicada cuyo amor no tenía límites, falleció el 4 de julio a los 58 años.
A lo largo de su vida, Belinda abrazó su carrera con un compromiso inquebrantable, a menudo compaginando varios trabajos para mantener a su familia. Aportó su talento a la Universidad Estatal Sul Ross, así como durante varios años en el supermercado local, donde ocupó diversos puestos, desde personal de panadería hasta cajera e incluso gerente. Su último puesto fue como cartera de confianza para el Servicio Postal de los Estados Unidos, testimonio de su tenacidad y sólida ética de trabajo.
Belinda era conocida por su humor sarcástico y su gran corazón. Quienes la conocían siempre podían esperar una sonrisa cordial, junto con momentos llenos de cariño y cariño. Su familia era su orgullo y alegría; irradiaba cariño por sus hijos y nietos.
El legado de Belinda continúa a través de su querida familia: le sobreviven sus tres hijos y nueve nietos. El servicio fúnebre de Belinda se celebrará mañana miércoles en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de la Paz en Alpine. El velatorio comenzará a las 8:00 a. m.

Hoy (martes), los funcionarios del condado revisaron el presupuesto de 2 millones de dólares del consejo de turismo del condado para el próximo año.

Este viernes, funcionarios de salud y líderes locales celebrarán la ceremonia de inauguración de una nueva clínica de salud comunitaria en Fort Davis.
El centro de atención médica es un contenedor de carga reacondicionado de 12 metros, equipado con servicios de telesalud y teleconsejería.
Profesionales de la salud certificados de los centros de salud de Texas A&M y Texas Tech brindarán servicios de atención médica en la clínica.
La gran inauguración de la clínica será el viernes 11 de julio a las 2:00 en 100 Court Avenue.

Este otoño, el Club de Arte de San Angelo presentará una exposición y venta de arte con jurado.
La exposición y venta de arte, que durará un mes y se realizará en la Galería de Arte Kendall en el centro de San Angelo, también ofrecerá premios en efectivo en cinco categorías. La recepción inaugural de la exposición será el 13 de septiembre.
