Services will be Friday for Catarina S. Rivera of Marfa, who died Sunday in Fort Stockton.
A visitation service will be at 9 Friday with a rosary to follow at 10:30 and the Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa with burial to follow at Merced Cemetery.
She was born on April 30, 1935, in Marfa and grew up in a close-knit family. In 1965, Catarina married the love of her life, Rito S. Rivera Junior.
Surviving are three children, four brothers, seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

A press conference Thursday afternoon launched the Lone Star Cowboy Poetry Gathering, primarily on the campus of Sul Ross State University.
The Gathering promoters told about the event that unofficially got underway Wednesday evening when it sponsored a show rodeo by the Sul Ross Rodeo team.
Proceeds will fund scholarships for Lobo student athletes.
The Thursday show was added after the first show rodeo a few years ago, making the official dates Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Event Producer Bob Saul of Fort Worth made the announcement.
He said the Lone Star Poetry Gathering is in Alpine this week and they’ve sold tickets so far to people in 31 states and two countries, including Sweden and Canada.
Saul said they will have 41 performers on stage during the shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
There will be seven ticketed shows and 39 free shows.
He invited everyone to come to Lone Star Cowboy Poetry Gathering this weekend.
Saul, a cowboy at heart with roots in generations of ranching, said a feeling of family has become synonymous with the gathering.
He took the reins as the event producer five years ago after a 33-year legacy of the Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering. The Lone Star Board was formed to keep the tradition alive.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has said that a lizard that once was considered an endangered species, has been removed from that list along with several other animals.
The action is a relief to the oil and gas industry and others because it threatened to shut down their activities throughout much of West Texas.
The Plateau spot-tailed earless lizard was thought to be on the verge of extinction.
But the Alpine Avalanche reports several thriving populations of the lizard have been found across the historical range in the Edwards Plateau region of Central and West Texas.
Jeff Fleming, acting Southwest Regional Director of the Wildlife Service, said the outcome is a direct result of dedicated efforts of researchers and conservation partners.
He said they worked tirelessly to gather crucial data on the species and that work enabled Wildlife Service to make informed decisions about the lizard’s conservation status.
Fleming attributed the delisting to conservation efforts to help protect these at-risk species and their habitats.
The Brewster County Emergency Management is hosting a free Community Emergency Response Basic Training class next week.
It will be at the Alpine Fire Station on February 23 to 25.
