Services will be Friday for Jesusita Lara Granado of Fort Davis, who died Saturday in Midland.
The viewing will begin at 11 at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home Memorial Chapel followed by the Rosary at 1.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Davis.
Jesusita was born on December 26, 1938, in Fort Davis and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Surviving are three sons, a daughter, two brothers and a sister, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of choice in Jesusita’s memory.

Our Congressman Tony Gonzales has sent a letter to top officers in the U.S. Congress urging them to take emergency action to secure the U.S.-Mexico border.
He noted the border is in the worst state it has ever been in and, as the U.S. Representative for the largest border district in Congress, he does not say that lightly.
He called on all lawmakers to take emergency action to secure our border, saying failure to act may lead to a point of no return,
He said local communities have no further resources to continue sustaining migrants.
Their limited budgets are being drained by this crisis and they are not being reimbursed by the federal government.
Gonzales said we know what policies are needed to end this chaos and we need to act on them now, he said. There is no time to delay further on this issue.
The V-6 Gallery in Marathon, part of the Gage Properties owned by J.P. Bryan, is now displaying fine art by local as well as other Western artists along the main highway.
The Alpine Avalanche in this week’s paper says many of the offerings on display are by artists such as those exhibited in the annual Trappings of Texas at the Museum of The Big Bend.
Gage General Manager Carol Peterson told the paper the gallery is dedicated to showcasing the Big Bend region through works of esteemed Texas artists.
They include works by regional artists Lindy Cook Severns of Fort Davis and Marathon artist E.
Dan Klepper as well as sculptures by William Carrington. Also on display are works by Noe Perez, Marshall Harris, Bob Stuth Wade and Jeri Salter.
The V6 is open from 9 to 5 Sunday through Thursday and 9 to 6 Friday and Saturday.
And Marathon also is getting a center for the performing arts for K. through 12 school children.
The paper says it is in partnership with the Marathon Public Library, Marathon I.S.D., and the Missoula Children’s Theatre.
Students from the local school auditioned for parts in the stage production, rehearsed and even participated in acting workshops to prepare for the community performance.
Library Board President Erin Albright said without this program, the students in the community would not have the opportunity to experience performing arts.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre allows students to participate in and experience the performing arts.
The production was titled “Betty Lou and the Country Beast,” a country-western adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
Local students took on the roles of their characters all while building life skills that included teamwork, confidence building, and effective communication.
Funding for the program was made possible by the Union Pacific Foundation.
