Tomorrow (TUESDAY), the City of Alpine will hold its next city council meeting.
As part of the meeting, councilmembers will receive a presentation from the Big Bend Regional Hospital District regarding program and service offerings. Council members are also set to discuss a proposal for economic development services and will also talk about the proposed property tax rate.
The council meets at 5:30 p.m. at the city council chambers.

As part of Barrio Fest in Fort Stockton this month (SEPTEMBER), event organizers are looking for entries for the festival’s car show.
Car show categories include low riders, hot rods, and vehicles from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and the 2000s and up.
Pre-registration for the car show is $40. The annual event takes place Friday, Sept. 11 to Sunday, Sept. 13.
Organizers are also looking for vendors for this year’s annual event. For artists, all types of original work made in the last year will be considered. And for vendors, the fest allows for a variety of booths, including vendors selling food and beverage and those selling crafts, clothes or other products.

In a couple of weeks, the Museum of the Big Bend will host the 40th Annual Trappings of Texas, the nation’s longest-running exhibit and sale dedicated to Western art and custom cowboy gear.
The event’s opening weekend runs Thursday, Sept. 17 to Saturday, Sept. 19 and will include a preview party, an opening reception and sale, artist demonstrations, and more.
The exhibit will remain on display through Oct. 31 at the museum, giving visitors a chance to view and purchase exceptional works of Western art and craftsmanship.

Later this month (SEPTEMBER), enjoy a Brewster County Elections open house.
On September 15 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., you can meet your county election officials and register to vote. You’ll also be able to learn more about voting by mail, what it takes to become an election worker, and learn about the election process and how the county ensures your vote counts.
The open house takes place at the Judge Val Clark Beard Office Complex, located at 203 N. 7th Street.

Throughout this month (SEPTEMBER), the Small Business Development Center at Sul Ross State University will host training session for business owners.
On Thursday, Sept. 24, take an in-depth look at all that goes into designing a marketing campaign for your business. In this one-hour class, you’ll explore the importance of purpose and how to design a campaign that keeps your audience engaged from start to finish.

In October, the regional Archives Bazaar will be hosted by Sul Ross State University.
The annual event sees dozens of archives, libraries, museums, and cultural repositories from across West Texas and New Mexico join forces. Together, they’ll present archival materials from throughout the southwest borderlands.
The event is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in borderland history, culture, heritage, and legacy.
The regional Archives Bazaar will be Friday, Oct. 9 at the Morgan University Center on the Sul Ross Campus.

This year’s event takes place Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21.

Como parte del Barrio Fest que se celebrará este mes (septiembre) en Fort Stockton, los organizadores buscan participantes para la exhibición de automóviles del festival.

Más adelante este mes (septiembre), aproveche la jornada de puertas abiertas del Departamento de Elecciones del Condado de Brewster.
El 15 de septiembre, de 1:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m., podrá conocer a los funcionarios electorales del condado y registrarse para votar. También podrá informarse sobre el voto por correo, los requisitos para ser trabajador electoral y los detalles del proceso de votación, así como conocer cómo el condado garantiza que su voto cuente.
La jornada de puertas abiertas tendrá lugar en el complejo de oficinas Judge Val Clark Beard, ubicado en el 203 N. 7th Street.

El jueves 24 de septiembre, podrá analizar a fondo todo lo que implica diseñar una campaña de marketing para su empresa. En esta clase de una hora, explorará la importancia de definir un propósito y aprenderá a diseñar una campaña que mantenga el interés de su audiencia de principio a fin.

En octubre, la Universidad Estatal Sul Ross será la sede del *Archives Bazaar* (Feria de Archivos) regional.
Este evento anual reúne a decenas de archivos, bibliotecas, museos y repositorios culturales del oeste de Texas y Nuevo México. Juntos, presentarán materiales de archivo provenientes de toda la región fronteriza del suroeste.
El evento es una excelente oportunidad para sumergirse en la historia, la cultura, el patrimonio y el legado de la zona fronteriza.
