Good evening, today is Tuesday, August 9th and I’m Hector Montemayor-Perez.
Praying of the Most Holy Rosary for Angelita Valenzuela will be at 9:30 Monday morning at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial following.
Burial will be at Holy Angels Cemetery. She died Saturday at home at age 101.
Mrs. Valenzuela was born in Alpine on October 10, 1920, and was a graduate of Alpine High School.
She worked at the Physical Plant for Sul Ross State University and was devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
Mrs. Valenzuela is preceded in death by her husband Francisco, two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are her second husband Dr. Bruce Lobely, three daughters, two sons, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The latest Meet the Mayor session with Mayor Catherine Eaves Tuesday at the Granada Theater drew a crowd estimated at more than 25 citizens, far larger than some earlier meetings.
The Granada, closed for more than four years, and its adjoining Saddle Club have recently been bought and new owner Benjamin Garcia hosted the event on the theater floor.
He said they now offer yoga and theater classes and will host a roller-blade party for children less than five feet tall from 5 to 7 Thursday evening.

At the session, Mayor Eaves said many current problems are because of a lack of a strategic plan and work has begun on a new Master Plan to provide that guidance.
She asked for input on what citizens would like to see in one, three and five years in the future.
Citizens discussed noise from motorcycles and Eaves said a current noise ordinance based on music is under review.
Others brought up crosswalks downtown and TxDOT Chief Engineer Chris Weber was quoted as telling one of them that crosswalks cause more accidents than they prevent.
As with earlier sessions with the mayor, the budget was a topic along with crumbling infrastructure in a period of heavy inflationary pressures.
Director of Utilities Keith Segar said many water pipes are made of older materials and need replacing, but budget issues stand in the way.
And he needs more workers at better pay with only four doing all the work and an inability to attract skilled workers at current pay rates.
The group also discussed the Alpine Downtown Association and its efforts to address these and other problems.
The next Meet the Mayor will be at the Farmer’s Market from 10:30 to noon Saturday.
The Presidio County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a resident this week about a dead body in front of his garage in Presidio.
No signs of foul play were found and a picture voter card identification and other documentation from Mexico helped identify the 39-year-old.
Justice of the Peace Juanita Bishop ordered an autopsy to find the cause of death and the Mexican Consulate was notified to try to find the next of kin.
The Marathon Songwriters Festival will showcase master songwriters at the Gage Hotel starting at 3 p.m. Friday and running through Saturday.
This year Drew Kennedy, Josh Grider, Jamie Lin Wilson, Rob Baird, Brennen Leigh, Bobby Hamrick and Logan Wall will perform.
Each songwriter will perform one intimate solo set at a location on the grounds of The Gage Hotel, the Gage Gardens and The Brick Vault Brewery and Barbecue.
Only 250 tickets will be for sale through the festival website at marathonsongs.com for $150 each.
